Event details
The event takes place in Richmond, VA on November 15, 2025. It includes these race distances:
- Allianz Richmond Marathon (full marathon)
- CarMax Richmond Half Marathon (half marathon)
- VCU Health Richmond 8k (8k) Virtual options are available for all three distances. The Richmond Challenge lets participants complete one race in person and the other two virtually during November.
Registration, limits, pace teams, and policies
All three in-person events reached full capacity and in-person registration is closed. Participant limits listed: the marathon is limited to 6,200 entries and the half marathon to 10,000 entries. Age minimums: marathon 16+, half marathon 12+, 8k 6+. Pace Teams are offered by the Richmond Road Runners Club; pace-team registration is free and is for the marathon (ages 16+) and half (ages 12+). Marathon pace times include 3:00, 3:10, 3:25, 3:30, 3:35, 3:45, 3:50, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, and 5:30. Half marathon pace times include 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, and 2:45. Entry fees are non-refundable. Deferrals to the 2026 event are allowed (all deferrals must be completed by October 30, 2025) with stated deferral fees and conditions. Switching between distances is permitted online through November 5 or at the race expo, subject to capacity and applicable fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
