Richard Sheltra Memorial 10K, 5K & Fun Run
The event is a memorial running event held in Pineville, North Carolina at the Belle Johnston Community Center on October 3, 2026. It includes multiple distances and a short community fun run, and the course passes through Old Town Pineville to McCullough and back.

Walkers are permitted in the 5K and 10K. The 10K has a time limit of 1:45 to accommodate an agreement with the City of Charlotte for reopening streets to traffic on a set schedule.
Proceeds benefit a memorial foundation that provides resources, equipment, and scholarships for volunteer first responders. The event page shows fundraising progress and lists a presenting title sponsor. Registration periods include early, regular, and day-of pricing. Registration fees are nonrefundable unless the participant enrolled in the event's Refund Protection Program; race management may cancel or modify the event for safety or weather reasons.
Races are held rain or shine unless emergency medical services or local law enforcement determine conditions are too dangerous. In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather there are no refunds or transfers; EMS may alter or eliminate portions of the race if needed.
