Richard Sheltra Memorial 10K, 5K & Fun Run
The Richard Sheltra Memorial 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is a community running event held on October 3, 2026, at the Belle Johnston Community Center in Pineville, North Carolina (1000 Johnston Dr, Pineville, NC 28134). Walkers are allowed to participate in the 5K and 10K. Proceeds from the event benefit the Richard Sheltra Memorial Foundation, which provides resources, equipment and scholarships for volunteer first responders. The foundation has an explicit fundraising goal and a public progress figure.
The event lists a presenting title sponsor and additional partners. Registration follows tiered pricing with early registration periods and higher fees closer to the event date. Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event for safety or other operational reasons. Races are held rain or shine unless emergency medical services determine conditions are too dangerous; in the event of cancellation for inclement weather there are no refunds unless the entrant purchased refund protection.
