Ribble Valley 10k
Ribble Valley 10k is a road race held in Clitheroe in the heart of Lancashire. The course is run entirely on undulating country roads and starts and finishes at Roefield Leisure Centre, Clitheroe. The second half is majority downhill, which provides an opportunity to run a negative split.
The event hosts the North of England Championships and serves as the finale of the Top Flight Series. Series points are awarded to top finishers, with 25 points for first place and descending points to tenth place. Team prizes are awarded based on cumulative positions, and Top Flight Series prize money is confirmed after this race.
Cash prizes are offered for the top ten finishers in both the men’s and women’s races, with first place receiving £300 and amounts awarded down to tenth place. A course record bonus of £500 is available. Recorded course best times include 28:32 for men set in 2019 and 31:19 for women set in 2022. U20 and masters categories receive separate cash prizes, and the first finisher in each five year masters age group from 35 to 39 onwards receives a prize.
Free elite entry is available for athletes meeting specified performance standards assessed from the previous two years. All race prize money for this event is paid by Blackburn Harriers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
