Rib Mountain Trail Races
The Rib Mountain Trail Races organized by IRONBULL take place on trails in Rib Mountain State Park near Wausau, Wisconsin. The event offers multiple looped distance options and a free kids run.
- 10.5 miles one loop
- 21 miles two loops
- 31.5 miles three loops
The 2026 course uses the same loop as 2025 and includes a notable climb referred to as The Hill. The organizer describes the route as The Steepest Test in the Midwest.
Bone & Joint serves as the exclusive sports medicine provider and will staff a triage and aid station located at the start and finish area to provide first aid care. Aid stations are cupless; runners refill personal hydration systems at those stations. Composting and recycling are provided onsite, and food service uses compostable trays.
Finish line activity includes food, music, and on site beverage service with local craft beer among the offerings. All racers and volunteers receive a meal and drink, and spectators may purchase food and beverages at the finish area.
The race is Trail Sisters approved, and the organizer lists local lodging partners and sponsors. The event information references course maps and previous race photos for further course detail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
