RHSC's Super Hear-O 5K and Family Fun Run
The RHSC's Super Hear-O 5K and Family Fun Run is an annual event held at Seneca Park in Rochester, New York. Now in its third year, this inclusive gathering supports the mission of the Rochester Hearing and Speech Center, a nonprofit organization providing hearing health services and developmental support for children with disabilities. Participants are invited to attend the event in superhero costumes to celebrate the clinicians and community members who assist individuals with communication needs.
The event offers two distinct participation options to accommodate various ability levels:
- 5K Road Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- One-Mile Walk/Roll/Stroll (1 mile)
The one-mile course utilizes a paved path, making it accessible for those using strollers or mobility devices. All ages are welcome to participate, and the event specifically highlights the work of audiologists, special education teachers, and therapists.
In addition to the road race and walk, the event features a Super Kid Zone with various activities. Ice cream is provided for participants by a local vendor. While there is a registration fee for adults, registration is free for children under the age of 12, with the option to purchase event t-shirts separately. The 2026 edition continues the tradition of gathering hundreds of families in a park setting to support early intervention and preschool developmental services.
