Rhino Run 5K and 2K
Rhino Run is a community running event in Dallas, North Carolina, with start and finish at Wyss Tower and proceeds benefiting the Gaston College Foundation Fund. Registration for the events opens on July 9, 2026 and closes on September 24, 2026. Late registration is available on race day with credit or debit cards only.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K : RFID chip timed, registration fee $30.00.
- 2K : Untimed non-competitive run/walk, registration fee $20.00.
Packet pickup is available early on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at the Gaston College Beam Administration Building, and there is also race day packet pickup at Wyss Tower. A T-shirt policy states that 5K participants registered by 11:59 PM on Monday, September 7, 2025 will receive a race-day T-shirt; 2K participants may add a shirt at registration by that same date and time. Shirts may not be exchanged for different sizes. Extra shirts, if any, will be distributed at packet pickup on a first-come, first-serve basis and unclaimed shirts will be donated.
The event is held rain or shine unless Gaston College determines conditions are too dangerous. If a cancellation occurs due to inclement weather there will be no refunds; a makeup date may be determined if availability allows. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
