Holiday Themed Running Event in Uptown Charlotte
The annual Santa Run returns for its 10th edition in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The event takes place in front of Truist Ballpark and features multiple distances for participants of various ages. This holiday tradition emphasizes festive attire, though costumes are optional. Participants may choose a specific character theme during registration, which determines their event apparel.
The event offers several race options:
- 8K
- 5K
- 1 Mile (Snowman Dash)
- Virtual 8K or 5K
Participants in the 8K and 5K races receive a high-quality, unisex long-sleeve shirt based on their selected character: Santa, Elf, Reindeer, or Snowman. Those who register by the early December deadline are also provided with matching accessories, such as a Santa hat, Elf hat, Reindeer antlers, or a Snowman beanie. Participants in the 8K and 5K who complete the course receive a finisher medal.
The 1 Mile Snowman Dash is open to walkers and runners, and participants receive a Snowman-themed shirt. While this distance is not chip-timed, a finish-line clock is available for participants to see their times. The 8K and 5K events use a professional timing system with disposable tags. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in age group divisions ranging from 12 and under to 70 and over.
An expo at the finish line provides water, bananas, snacks, and hot cocoa. Music is played at both the start and finish lines to provide entertainment throughout the morning. Packet pickup is available on the day before the race at a local running store or at the event site on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
