Rexy Run/Walk
The 11th Annual Rexy Run/Walk takes place in Lawrence, Kansas. The event features several participation options:
- 10 km Run/Walk
- 5 km Run/Walk
- Dino Dash Kids Run
- Virtual Rexy Run/Walk/Swim/Bike/Crawl
The in-person courses begin and end at Broken Arrow Park in southeast Lawrence. The route winds through the Baker Wetlands, utilizing a combination of paved concrete trails and fine gravel paths. This event is stroller and dog friendly, allowing for a variety of participants on the course.
The event is hosted by BabyJay's Legacy of Hope, a local non-profit organization. The organization provides assistance to families with children fighting cancer by helping to offset expenses not covered by health insurance.
Participants in the 10 km and 5 km events are eligible for awards across multiple categories. These include overall winners, masters, and several age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over. A medal is included for those participating in the 10 km distance. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option allows participants to choose their own activity and location, with shirts and medals mailed to those who cannot attend local pickup.
