Event details
The Roche Abbey Ramble takes place on 14 June 2026 and is organised by Its Grim Up North Running. The event starts and finishes at the Travellers Rest, Main Street, Sheffield, S25 1YA (what3words: walks.gymnasium.hurls). Entry fees range from £26 to £42. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association.

Age limits apply: the 6.7 Miler is open to entrants aged 16 and over, the Half Marathon to those aged 17 and over, the 20 Miler to those aged 18 and over, and the Marathon to those aged 21 and over.
Course and practical information
The route is a lapped course with one lap equal to 6.7 miles. The surface is a mixture of trail, road, grass and woodland, and includes stepping stones where a marshal will assist. The route is described as undulating and has some unmarshalled road crossings.
Feed stations are normally placed at about every three miles and the event operates a cup-less policy, so runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Bibs are issued at registration on the day. Parking is in the pub field and is charged at £5. The organisers donate 50p per runner to English Heritage. Large over-ear headphones are banned; bone-conducting or single-ear in-ear pieces are permitted. Transfers or deferrals can be arranged up to 48 hours before the event.
