Event

The 17th Annual Resolution Run to Kick Cancer 5K takes place on January 10, 2026 in Lexington, MA. The event offers an in-person 5K and a Virtual 5K that can be completed anytime between January 10 and January 18, 2026. The in-person course starts and finishes in front of Lexington High School, Field House, at 251 Waltham Street.

Logistics, competition and virtual race details

The in-person 5K is described as a fast, flat course through historic Lexington and is USATF sanctioned. The race is chip timed and accepts walkers. Trophies will be awarded to the in-person top three males, top three females, top three male cancer patients/survivors, top three female cancer patients/survivors, and top three teams; medals will be awarded to age group winners. A long-sleeve technical t-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by December 18, 2025.

Race packet pickup is available at Lexington High School, Field House, on race day. Parking is available in the front and back lots of Lexington High School and at several nearby locations including Worthen Road, the Town Pool Complex near 80 Worthen Road, Center Playground at Clark Street and Park Drive, and Lincoln Park on Lincoln Street; participants are asked not to park in the Hayden Recreation Centre lots. As a USATF-sanctioned race, no dogs or bikes are allowed on the course, and strollers must line up behind runners and walkers.

Virtual participants receive a digital bib by email, will be given instructions to submit self-timed results, and U.S. virtual registrants who provide a complete mailing address by December 18, 2025 will receive a technical t-shirt by mail.

Charitable contributions

The event raises funds for cancer research and patient support programs. Proceeds from the 2025 race were directed to Metastatic Breast Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Caring For A Cure at Massachusetts General Hospital, and The Kiki Fund for Leptomeningeal Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. 2026 charity partners will be selected by April.
