Event Overview
The Tough 10 & Fast 5 Turkey Trot is an annual tradition in Marlborough, Massachusetts, held at Ghiloni Park. This event has been organized for over 20 years and operates without a traditional entry fee. Instead of a monetary payment, participants are asked to bring 20 canned or non-perishable goods to support the Marlborough Community Cupboard and the Hudson Food Pantry.
The event features two primary distances:
- 10 Mile Run
- 5 Mile Run/Walk
Course Details
The routes travel through the hills of Marlborough and Hudson. Both races are conducted simultaneously and conclude at the same finish line within Ghiloni Park. Course marshals are stationed along the routes to assist participants. The 5 mile event is open to both runners and walkers.
A time limit of 2 hours and 15 minutes is enforced for the 10 mile race. Participants who do not reach the split point between the two distances within 40 minutes will be redirected by volunteers to follow the 5 mile finish path.
Participation and Amenities
Organizers provide awards for top finishers in both the 5 mile and 10 mile categories, as well as an award for the largest participating team. The course includes photographers to document the event.
