Event Overview
The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey is a multi-day running relay event held in various locations. Participants have the option to compete for personal records or run for leisure while wearing traditional running gear or costumes. The event is structured as a communal running adventure that accommodates different types of participants, ranging from competitive runners to groups focused on the social experience.
The event feature three distinct relay options for participants:
- Reno-Tahoe Odyssey (RTO)
- Capital Odyssey
- Comstock Odyssey
The main Reno-Tahoe Odyssey relay takes place over two days in late May. The Capital Odyssey and the Comstock Odyssey are scheduled specifically for the second day of the event weekend. Each relay route is designed as part of a larger running adventure where participants work together in teams to complete the specified segments.
The event is open to a variety of runners, including those using carbon-plated racing shoes for speed and those participating in "costume crews." It emphasizes individual effort and team spirit, providing a start line for all participants regardless of their competitive intent. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
