Reno-Tahoe Odyssey
The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey is a 178-mile team relay held June 4-5, 2027. The route begins at the J Resort Festival Grounds in Reno, follows the Truckee River through downtown Reno, then climbs into the Sierra Nevada before circling Lake Tahoe and returning to Reno.
The course is divided into 36 legs, averaging about 5 miles each. Legs vary in distance and terrain as the route passes through Truckee, Tahoe City, South Lake Tahoe, Genoa, Carson City, and Virginia City. Teams complete the full circuit by returning to Reno to cross the finish line.
Teams may include up to twelve runners, which allows each person to run roughly three times. Ultra teams with six or fewer runners are permitted for groups that choose to distribute the legs among fewer people.
