16th Annual Remembrance 5K Run/Walk for HOPE

The Remembrance 5K Run/Walk for HOPE is an annual community event held in Liverpool, New York. The event serves as a memorial to celebrate and remember individuals who have passed away. All proceeds support the nonprofit organization HOPE For Bereaved, which provides peer grief support services, community outreach, and grief resources to the local community.

Participants can choose from several event categories:

  • 5K (Timed run or walk)
  • Superhero Kids Fun Run (Open to ages 12 and under)
  • Virtual Run/Walk (Participants select their own location and distance)

The 5K event is a timed race for both runners and walkers. Registration is conducted exclusively online; paper applications and cash payments are not accepted. The organizers invite participants to bring a photograph of a loved one to be displayed on a memory board during the event. These photos are later moved to the HOPE office.

Commemorative t-shirts are provided to participants, though availability is only guaranteed for those who register before July 10. Additionally, there is a memorial opportunity where the names of loved ones can be printed on the back of the official event shirt for donations over a specific threshold. Packet pickup is scheduled at the HOPE For Bereaved office in Syracuse several days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
