Reentry Resource Center’s Rise Up and Run 5K
The County of Santa Clara Reentry Resource Center and its partners are organizing a 5K run/walk to raise funds for the immediate needs of justice-involved people, including clothing, food, hygiene items, and transportation. The in-person event takes place at Hellyer County Park - Cottonwood, 985 Hellyer Ave, San Jose, CA 95111 on October 17, 2026. A virtual option is available and may be completed between October 17 and October 31, 2026 at a location chosen by the participant.

- In-person 5K - 3.1 miles
- Virtual 5K - 3.1 miles
Participants will receive a Rise Up and Run race shirt and a medal. Packet pickup information will be provided later.
Proceeds and donated items will be used to buy new clothing and cover short-term needs for people leaving custody. The event description notes that many reentry clients face limited access to jobs and housing and that some are pursuing education, employment advancement, apprenticeships, or peer mentoring as part of reentry.
