Reentry Resource Center’s Rise Up and Run 5K
The County of Santa Clara Reentry Resource Center and partners are hosting a 5K event to raise funds for immediate needs of people involved in the justice system. The event includes an in-person 5K run/walk at Hellyer County Park - Cottonwood in San Jose and a virtual 5K option held over a set date range.
The in-person 5K is scheduled for October 17, 2026 at Hellyer County Park. The virtual 5K can be completed on any day between October 17, 2026 and October 31, 2026. Participants in both options will receive a Rise Up and Run race shirt and a medal. Packet pickup information will be provided later.
Registration opens July 14, 2026. Registration for the in-person 5K closes October 17, 2026; virtual registration closes November 1, 2026. The listed registration fee is $41.00.
The event’s purpose is to support basic needs for people reentering the community from jail or prison. Identified needs include clothing, food, hygiene items, and transportation. Support options described for the event include registering to participate, sponsoring another participant, making monetary donations to buy new clothes, or donating new clothing items for reentry clients.
