The Course
The event takes place at a vineyard. The course includes sections through the vines and a wooded trail, and involves a feature called Survivor Hill. The 5K is two laps of the course, while the 2.5K is a single lap. There is also a non-competitive Steps of Hope walk option that goes through the vines and up Survivor Hill but does not include the wooded trail.
Participation
The event includes a run/walk and a walk. Each participant receives a finisher medal, a t-shirt, and a race packet. Participants aged 21 and over receive a complimentary wine pour after the race. A food truck with breakfast and lunch options will be on site. Awards are given for the fastest male and female overall in the 5K, as well as top finishers in various age groups. Additional recognitions include best-dressed individual and team.
Beneficiary
The event benefits Fishin' for a Cure, which raises awareness and funds for the early detection and cure of women's cancers. Participants can make additional donations or fundraise. Teams that raise over a certain amount receive a bottle of wine.
Schedule and Post-Race
The post-race party includes an awards ceremony, live music, and Derby Day activities. There are optional VIP experiences available for additional donations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
