Red White & Brews 5K
Red White & Brews is a community 5K run held in downtown Newport, North Carolina on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The course is USATF certified and starts and finishes at Shortway Brewing Co., located at 230 Chatham St in the heart of downtown. The event marks America’s 250th Anniversary and participants and spectators are strongly encouraged to wear patriotic attire.
Participants receive a t shirt, a finisher medal, and one post run pint at the after party; all participants are subject to ID check. T shirt size is not guaranteed for registrations after April 15. Awards are given to the overall top three males and females and to the top two finishers in each age division for both males and females. Age divisions are 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & above. A water station is located at the halfway point of the course.
Packet pickup is available Wednesday, May 27 from 6 to 8 PM at Shortway Brewing Co. or the morning of the race at the registration table behind the brewery on Haskett St starting at 8 AM. Online registration opens March 13, 2026 and the listed registration fee is $35. If the race fills, a waitlist will open and spots will be offered on a first come first served basis with 24 hours to register after notification.
