Red White & Brews 5K
The Red White & Brews 5K takes place in downtown Newport, North Carolina, to commemorate 250 years of American history. The event features a single distance:
- 5 km (3.1 miles)
The race starts and finishes at Shortway Brewing Co., located at 230 Chatham Street. The course is USATF certified and includes a water station at the halfway point. Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic attire in red, white, and blue. Registration includes a t-shirt and a finisher medal. However, t-shirt sizes are not guaranteed for those who register after April 15.
After crossing the finish line, the event continues at the brewery with a post-run gathering. Participants receive one pint of beer, subject to an identification check. Food trucks are also present on-site during the race day festivities.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top two finishers in various age divisions receive awards. These divisions range from 14 and under to 70 and above. Packet pickup is available on the Wednesday prior to the race at the brewery or on the morning of the event at a registration table located on Haskett Street.
