Core Sound Run
Core Sound Run is set on Harkers Island, North Carolina, with the course beginning and ending "at the end of the road" at the edge of Core Sound. The event includes in person races and a virtual option.
The in person distances are:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run Walk (Untimed) A virtual 5K is offered for participants who cannot attend in person.
High quality long sleeve t shirts are provided to each 5K and 10K participant. Registrations received by the end of day March 19 secure a guaranteed t shirt size. Registration for the in person races closes March 1; virtual registration closes April 10. Published registration fees are $30 for the 5K and 10K, $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run Walk, and $35 for the virtual 5K.
Prizes are awarded for age groups and overall winners in the 5K and 10K. The overall grand prize for each age group is a collectible decoy. Additional first, second, and third place prizes are awarded in each age group. Age groups are 1 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 74, and 75 and over.
Early packet pickup is available on April 2 and April 3 from 10am to 5pm at the Core Sound Museum Store, 806 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
