Event details
Red Top Rumble is a trail race held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Red Top Mountain State Park Visitor's Center in Cartersville, GA. The event is organized by the Georgia Ultrarunning and Trailrunning Society (GUTS) as a non-profit race. The listed distance is 11.5 miles. The Visitor's Center is located off I-75 exit 285, about 45 minutes north of Atlanta. Registration closes January 29. The event is described as the 19th annual running of the race.
Course and logistics
The course starts and finishes at the Visitor's Center and follows winding, moderate-to-easy wooded trails with several bridge crossings and views of Lake Allatoona. There is a course cutoff at the Homestead aid station (7.7 mile) set at 2 hours (about 15:30 per mile). Facilities at the start/finish include parking, restrooms and portable toilets. Due to limited parking, carpooling is encouraged; a $5 state park parking fee applies for those without a park pass and fee envelopes are available at packet pickup and drop boxes. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday (time TBD), Saturday, January 31, and on race morning. Refunds, transfers and deferrals are not allowed; using another runner's number may result in disqualification and a ban. Awards are given to the top five male and female finishers and to overall Master and Grandmaster finishers, with no duplication of awards. A portion of proceeds supports Red Top Mountain State Park.
