Red Sneakers Peoria 5K & Teal Pumpkin Festival - Peoria Heights, IL
Red Sneakers Peoria Chapter presents a community event on October 17, 2026 at Tower Park, East Kingman Avenue, Peoria Heights, IL, focused on food allergy awareness. The program combines a timed 5K and untimed 1-mile run/walk with a Teal Pumpkin Fall Festival that offers allergy education, activities, and non-food treats.

Logistics and participant information are provided for packet pickup before the event and on site at Tower Park. Registration includes a T-shirt while supplies last; youth registration for ages 12 and under receives a $10 discount. Virtual participants may add biking or swimming to create duathlon or triathlon entries and are asked to submit results on Race Roster and social media to qualify for prizes. Attendees are asked to bring old or expired epinephrine injectors for training use.
The event supports local fundraising efforts with a stated fundraising goal and documents recent community impact, including equipping Peoria police with epinephrine auto-injectors, training educators, partnering with restaurants on allergy-safe dining, expanding allergy-safe zones at community venues, and installing an allergy-friendly playground sign.
