Red Rock Sunset Rumble
The Red Rock Sunset Rumble is a trail event at Red Rock Canyon Park in Topanga, CA. The main race is a 10k that runs mostly on fireroads with roughly 1,360 ft of vertical gain and loss. The course includes about a half mile of singletrack, oak forest and chaparral, red sandstone cliffs, a seasonal creek, two major climbs and a downhill finish with views toward the Backbone Trail, Saddle Peak and the Pacific Ocean.
The event also offers a non-timed Hiker's Delight with access to the same aid stations and event amenities. Aid stations provide Skratch Hydration and water at set mile markers on both courses. Amenities at the race site include a beer garden for 21 plus, a plant based taco breakfast, sports massage, finish line music and announcers, hand crafted finisher medals, free course photography, same day results and professional medical support. The 10k includes a $500 course record bonus and a fastest Local Legend award for Topanga residents.
There is no onsite parking on race day. Free off site parking and shuttles are provided on Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Topanga School Road and the race site is about a 0.6 mile walk from the shuttle drop off. Volunteers earn race credits, race swag, meals and other benefits; race credit value is $15 per hour and credits are transferrable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
