Red Rock Sunset Rumble
The Red Rock Sunset Rumble is a trail event at Red Rock Canyon Park in Topanga, CA (23601 W Red Rock Rd). The event features multiple courses that run through oak forest, chaparral and red sandstone cliffs, with seasonal creek crossings and views toward the Backbone Trail, Saddle Peak, Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean.
Distances:
- 10k Rumble (roughly 1,360 ft of vertical gain and loss)
- Hiker's Delight (about 4.5 miles; roughly 1,075 ft of vertical gain and loss)
The 10k course is primarily fireroads of varying condition, with a half mile of singletrack. The route includes two major climbs, aid stations serving Skratch Hydration and water at miles 1.8 and 3.6, and a downhill finish. The Hiker's Delight is a non timed early start route with aid at mile 2.27 and access to the same event amenities.
Onsite provisions include a 21 plus beer garden, a vegan friendly taco breakfast, sports massage by Vision for Enrichment, hand crafted finisher medals, free course photography, same day results, sponsor giveaways and professional medical support. The event offers a $500 course record bonus and a fastest local "Local Legend" award for Topanga runners.
There is no onsite parking on race day. Free off site parking and shuttles operate from Topanga Canyon Blvd and Topanga School Road; the race site is about a 0.6 mile walk from the shuttle drop off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
