Red Rock Sunset Rumble - Topanga, CA
The Red Rock Sunset Rumble is a late‑season trail event in Topanga held by SoCalTrail at Red Rock Canyon Park (23601 W Red Rock Rd). The main event is a 10k Rumble on a route that features roughly 1,360 ft of vertical gain and loss. The course runs about 90% on fireroads with a half mile of singletrack, passing through oak forest and chaparral, over red sandstone cliffs and alongside a seasonal creek, with views toward the Backbone Trail, Saddle Peak, Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean. Aid stations for the 10k supply Skratch Hydration and water at miles 1.8 and 3.6.
A non timed option called the Hiker's Delight follows a shorter route to Calabasas Peak. That 4.5 mile course has roughly 1,075 ft of vertical gain and loss and includes access to the same aid stations and event amenities.
Event amenities include a 21+ beer garden, a plant based taco breakfast, sports massage, hand crafted finisher medals, free course photography, sponsor giveaways, same day results and professional medical support. Awards include age group prizes for female and male runners, overall podium awards for female, male and non binary finishers, a Local Legend award for the fastest Topanga locals, and a $500 course record bonus for the 10k. All SoCalTrail races are CUPLESS.
No onsite parking is provided on race day; free off site parking and shuttles serve the event and the race site is about a 0.6 mile walk from the shuttle drop off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
