Rise to the Top at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area
Rise to the Top is a multi-distance running event at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area in Los Angeles on September 12, 2026. The event is organized by A Better World Running and is held on park trails with marked out-and-back loops.

The 5k uses an out-and-back route. The 10k is two 5k loops and the 15k is three 5k loops. The half marathon is three out-and-back segments of 4.36 miles each. The course is an open trail; participants are asked to be courteous to pedestrians, runners, and cyclists. Terrain includes paved sections, hard packed dirt and gravel, and a steep hill about 0.25 miles long. An aid station at the turnaround near the start/finish provides water cups, bottled water, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. The hill provides park views from the top.
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, drawstring goodie bag, free photos and videos, live results, trophies and achievement badges, an event app, and a post-race assortment of snacks and samples. The half marathon has a 3:30 time limit. Age group awards are available for pickup at the event only. Parking at Kenneth Hahn is $10 per vehicle and several park parking lots are available near the visitor center.
