Rise to the Top at Kenneth Hahn
Rise to the Top takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area in Los Angeles, CA. The event offers multiple distances on a marked park trail and uses an open course; participants share the trail with pedestrians, runners, and cyclists. Parking inside the park is listed at $10 per vehicle, with lots near the Swings, Picnic Area, and across from the Visitor's Center.
Distances:
- 5k out and back route
- 10k two 5k loops
- 15k three 5k loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile out and back
The course combines pavement and hard packed dirt or gravel and includes a steep climb of about 0.25 miles. The route consists of out and back loops and will be marked. An aid station at the turnaround/start/finish supplies water cups, bottled water, Gatorade cups, and GU gels.
Registration is available through PayPal or Active.com; PayPal registrations are followed by a confirmation email within 12 hours. Early bird pricing is offered one month before the race; race day and regular pricing tiers are listed for each distance. Included with registration are custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, results posted within 12-24 hours, and an assortment of snacks and samples. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit. Transfers are allowed by contacting the organizer and there is a no refund policy.
