Red Raider Road Race
The Red Raider Road Race is the 45th annual edition of an event established in 1982, scheduled for October 10, 2026, at Texas Tech University. The courses loop the inner Texas Tech campus and start at the Student Recreation Center.

- 5K Run or Walk
- 10K Run
Entry fees are stated as $25 for West Texas Running Club members and non member children ages 10 to 12, and $35 for non members for both distances. Race day registration is limited and there are no refunds. Signups begin on September 12, 2026. Packet pickup is available on the Friday prior at FootTech 19th Street.
Age requirements are specified by distance: participants must be at least 10 years old for the 5K run or walk, at least 13 years old for the 10K run, and strollers are allowed only for the 5K by adults aged 18 or older. No pets are allowed on the course.
Both the 10K and 5K courses are USATF certified with certification numbers TX13187ETM for the 10K and TX13188ETM for the 5K. The event offers a race T shirt and maintains age group and overall course records. Recent finisher counts include 425 in 2025 and 498 in 2024.
