About the race
The Red or Green Fun Run is a loop-based running and walking event held at the Canteen Brewhouse, 2381 Aztec Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Participants complete a clearly marked 2 miles loop that follows Aztec Road east to the North Diversion Channel Trail and returns to the Brewhouse; each completed loop is recorded on the participant's race bib.
Entrants may participate individually in the Individual Chile Fun Run or as part of a relay team in the Relay Ristra Fun Run. Relay teams consist of 2 to 4 runners; team captains can create a team during registration and additional members can join that team. Registration opens July 21, 2026 and closes September 1, 2026, with a registration fee of $40.00 for each listed event option.
The event offers multiple on-site elements: beer or root beer, chile-themed swag and snacks, food, a costume contest for produce-themed outfits, and prizes. Produce prizes will be awarded for most miles completed by an individual, most miles completed by a team, best produce outfit, and best team name; prizes will include chile. During the event window, participants may repeat the loop as many times as they choose, tag a teammate, take breaks between laps, or stop when they wish.
