NM Sunflower Run
The NM Sunflower Run is an adults-only sports event held in the Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico. This event is strictly for participants aged 21 and older, and a valid ID is required for packet pickup and entry to the finish venue. The course consists of a flat, point-to-point loop that transitions through scenic areas, ending at the Casa Rondeña Winery.
Participants can choose from two distances:
- 10K (6.21 miles)
- 5K (3.12 miles)
The races utilize a gun start with timing chips for official results. The starting line is located at Coronado Dual Language Magnet School, which also serves as the designated parking area. There is no parking available at the winery or on the surrounding streets. Medical support and fluid replacement stations are positioned along the course to assist runners.
All registered participants receive a t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a souvenir wine glass. Post-race refreshments are provided at the finish line, including a complimentary glass of wine for participants at the winery. An optional post-event barbecue is also available for an additional fee. Due to the nature of the venue, the finish area at Casa Rondeña Winery is limited to race participants only.
The event takes place rain or shine. Please note that baby joggers, strollers, dogs, and wheeled devices are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
