NM Chips and Salsa Half Marathon - Albuquerque, NM
The NM Chips and Salsa event takes place on September 13, 2026, at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (9169 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque). The event offers multiple in-person distances and virtual options.
- 13.1 Miles Half Marathon
- 6.21 Miles 10K
- 3.12 Miles 5K
- 1K Kids K (11 and under) and a youth 5K (17 and under)
- Virtual Half, 10K, 5K, and Kids K options
The course is described as a new, flat loop through the North Valley and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Packet pickup is required for pre-registered participants; a packet-mailing option is available for virtual entries with shipments beginning in early September. Half Marathon participants may check gear near the start and claim bags near the finish.
Event services include assigned electronic timing devices attached to bibs, fuel stations roughly every 2 miles on the half course (water and Powerade), water for the 5K and 10K, restroom locations near the start and finish and near mile 6, and medical staff positioned along the course. Age-group and overall awards are given for the Half, 10K, and 5K; half-marathon finishers receive custom finisher medals. Awards and medals must be picked up on race day.
