Red Lodge Event's Turkey Trot
The Turkey Trot is a free run/walk held on Thanksgiving Day at the Rodeo Grounds in Red Lodge, Montana. Registration is required for all participants, including babies and toddlers, for insurance purposes. It can be done online or in person on the event day.
The course is a 3-mile route designed as a "double out and back" on pavement with a section of packed gravel. This format also accommodates a shorter option of 1.5 miles. The event is untimed, but a clock is provided for those curious about their time.
Dogs on leashes are welcome, though owners must sign a waiver, and dogs are not allowed inside the main building. Strollers are permitted. The event is held regardless of weather conditions. After the run, participants can find a light spread of post-race snacks and hot beverages.
The event is a fundraiser. All online donations support two local organizations: BareTooth Cupboards (90%) and Beartooth Humane Alliance (10%). Participants who donate $30 or more receive a complimentary laser-engraved to-go mug. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
