24 Hours of Elk Basin
24 Hours of Elk Basin is a 24 hour outdoor endurance event held June 13-14, 2026 at Elk Basin Recreation Area outside of Belfry, Montana. The event features both running and biking courses; organizers provide route files and course traces for runners and cyclists. Routes are subject to change based on conditions.
The event is described by organizers as a dusty, outdoor gathering that is family, child and dog friendly. Participants commonly camp at the site; organizers note that camping gear is part of a typical setup. Participants are advised to bring running shoes, bikes, camping gear and sunscreen.
A racer manual is published to explain how the event works and to cover logistics such as schedule elements, rules and recommended equipment. The event is operated under a Special Recreation Permit with the Bureau of Land Management. Additional resources include GPX and Strava course files for the bike and run loops.
