Nitty Gritty Off Road Race : Red Lodge Mountain
The event is a looped trail race held at Red Lodge Mountain, Red Lodge, Montana, using a start/finish basecamp. The course mixes singletrack, access road, and sections of bushwhacking. Each lap is approximately 4.3 miles with about 900–1200 ft of elevation gain per lap. The organizers change the course annually.

Entry fees listed include youth and event-specific prices: youth 17 and under $25, Hot Lap $25, Half Marathon $40, Marathon $40, and team relay pricing ranges $70–$200. Adult prices increase on May 28th.
The event description emphasizes a casual, back-to-roots trail atmosphere with shared basecamp amenities. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome; the race notes that power hiking is a common approach on steeper sections. Four-legged training partners are permitted on- or off-leash; off-leash dogs must have reliable recall and be kept away from the snack table.
