Red Devil Ruck
CVFD hosts the Red Devil Ruck on September 13, 2026 to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The event began with its inaugural ruck on September 10, 2023. Participants take part in a ruck march that reflects the endurance, sacrifice, and commitment shown by the first responders on 9/11.
Event formats and distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Ruck
- 2 Mile Ruck
The ruck and 5K begin at the West Side Station, located at 1046 County Route 12, Pennellville, NY 13132, and finish at the East Side Station, located at 48 Prospect Street, Central Square, NY 13036. All participants are asked to park at the East Side Station before the event. Shuttle transportation will take participants from the East Side Station to the West Side Station prior to the start so participants can finish at their vehicles.
Registration opens August 1, 2026 and closes September 12, 2026. There is no registration fee. Event T-shirts and challenge coins are not included with registration; they may be purchased through the RunSignup store before the event or on-site while supplies last. Merchandise purchases must be picked up on the day of the event as shipping is not available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
