Reading Lions Journey For Sight 5K
The Reading Lions Journey For Sight 5K is an annual community event hosted by the Reading Lions Club in partnership with The Friends of Reading Recreation. The event takes place in the central area of Reading, Massachusetts, with the base of operations located at Memorial Park on Harrison Street. Participants can choose between two primary activities:
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Walk
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund (MLERF) and various local sight-related charities. Proceeds from the registration fees support basic eye research conducted at institutions such as Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston. To date, the organizing club has contributed more than $350,000 to eye research through this specific event.
