Reach the Beach 5K
Reach the Beach 5K is a sanctioned 5K run/walk held on August 15 at the Sunset Bay Beach Club in Irving, NY. The course starts and finishes at the Sunset Bay Beach Club and follows a route that crosses Iola Drive, continues through Sunset Bay, and goes down South Shore Drive for two laps. The distance is 3.1 miles.
All registrants receive free parking and beach access for the day. The day includes additional activities at Cabana Sam’s Sunset Bay Grill, where a craft and vendor market will take place and food service and live music will be available. Event organizers also run a basket raffle called the "Basket of CHEER." Proceeds from the day benefit the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
Registration options listed include a standard 5K rate of $28.00, a club member rate of $25.00, a student rate of $20.00, and a supporters (not running) virtual option at $20.00. Registration opens April 1 and closes August 13. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
