Frozen 50K
Frozen 50K is a no frills running event held in Cassadaga, New York on February 7, 2026. The event takes place around the Lower Lake near Maple Avenue, Cassadaga 14718. It is organized as a looped course where a single 5K circuit is available and participants may run or walk multiple loops to reach their chosen distance. There are no cut-off times and breaks are included in finish times.
Distances offered include:
- 5K loop around Lower Lake
- Repeated loops up to a full 50K
The course follows the shoulder of the roadway and is run against traffic with left hand turns, except for a crossing at the Maple Avenue and Mill Street intersection to return to the community room. The loop is mostly flat with about 60 feet of elevation gain per loop. An aid station is located at the start/finish point and supplies water, Hammer Nutrition HEED, and gels. A warming location is provided inside the Community Room at 22 Mill Street with coffee, hot cocoa, restrooms, and space to keep personal items warm.
Frozen 50K is a fundraiser. One hundred percent of event proceeds are designated for the Chautauqua County Fire Police. Post event amenities include a beer zone provided by sponsors, pancakes and sausage served after the race, and an on site massage service available for a suggested donation.
