Course and format
The course uses a 3.1 mile loop around the Lower Lake in Cassadaga. An aid station is located at the start/finish area and runners complete the loop multiple times to reach longer distances. The route is mostly flat with about 60 ft of elevation gain per loop. The course runs on the roadway shoulder, with runners facing traffic and making left-hand turns; one intersection requires crossing Maple Ave and Mill Street to return to the community room. There are no cut-off times. Breaks taken inside the warming location count toward a participant’s finish time.
Facilities and awards
A community room at 22 Mill Street provides a warming area and restrooms. On-course aid includes water plus Hammer Nutrition HEED and gels. Food and a beer zone are available for participants and spectators; a donation is requested to cover food costs. An on-site licensed massage therapist will offer massages for a suggested donation of $2 per minute, payable by cash or Venmo. Top three overall male and female finishers of the full 50K receive an embroidered scarf. No finisher medals or race shirts are provided.
