Raven Rocks Run
Raven Rocks Run is an annual trail running event held at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY. The event includes an on-site 10k race and a monthlong virtual Raven 100k November Challenge. The race returned for its eleventh running on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
The marked course runs on park trails and features rocky climbs, ridgeline singletrack, hilly meadows, ravines, and the site of the former fire tower. A water stop is located at the four mile mark near the top of the Fire Tower climb. For recent editions the course has followed the same layout as the previous year with minor rerouting around construction when needed.
The Raven 100k November Challenge runs from November 1 through November 30. Challenge participants log walking, hiking, or running distances and submit badge claims; those who report 100k or more receive a custom finisher woodallion. Timely reporting affects eligibility for top finisher recognition.
Race organization relies on volunteers for registration, course marking, timing, parking, and aid stations. A pre-race "Cobweb Crew" checks markings on the trails. Volunteer photographers document the event and an organized photo gallery is maintained for race years. The race supports the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation; membership and donations have funded park support and event-related fundraising.
