Newcastle Beach Triathlon
The Newcastle Beach Triathlon takes place at Newcastle Beach Park in Bellevue, Washington, during Labor Day weekend 2026. The event is a sprint triathlon made up of a swim, a mixed-surface bike, and an asphalt trail run.
Distances
- 1/4 mile swim in Lake Washington
- 8 miles bike: about 5 miles asphalt, 3 miles hard-packed limestone and dirt
- 5 miles run on an asphalt trail
The bike route uses the Eastrail King County trail for part of the course and allows regular road bikes on the described surfaces. The course passes views of the VMAC Seahawks training facility and Lake Washington.
Logistics include free parking at Newcastle Beach Park and a staging area at Shelter #3. Optional packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, Sept 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm at the race site. A mandatory safety briefing is scheduled for Thursday, Sept 3, 2026, at 7:00 pm and will be recorded for those who cannot attend live. The event has a participant cap.
Entry options include a full individual triathlon and 2-person or 3-person relay entries. USAT membership is required; one-day USAT memberships are available.
