Rasselbock Backyard Ultra - Hardwick Hall 2026
Rasselbock Backyard Ultra at Hardwick Hall Estate is a last-person-standing looped event held on Saturday 5 September 2026. Competitors run the same 4.16 miles (6.71 km) loop each hour and must start a new lap on the hour; each loop must be completed within the hour. The race continues until only one runner is able to start a further lap.
The route runs through estate trails and farmland with a mix of natural woodland, farm tracks and a small amount of tarmac. The organiser recommends trail shoes where possible. The course length and character will remain consistent, though minor changes may occur to meet the venue requirements.
Facilities and support include a small aid station with hot and cold water, squash, cola, fruit, sweets and cake; dedicated first aiders for the full event; and an area for support crews and tents. Entries included a bespoke backyard memento and potential trophies for winners and furthest male and female finishers. A discount is offered to runners who have completed a backyard ultra within the last two years and lasted more than 40 hours.
The venue is owned by the National Trust; closures can be made for high winds and, in that case, the organiser will seek an alternative date or offer a deferral. The event was listed as sold out with a wait list. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
