Rasselbock Backyard Ultra – Hardwick Hall 2026
Rasselbock Backyard Ultra at Hardwick Hall Estate is a last person standing event where competitors run the same loop every hour until only one runner remains. The course is at least 4.16 miles (6.71 km) per lap and runs through a mix of estate trails, farmland tracks and a small amount of tarmac. Each loop must be completed within the hour to count.
The event is set on the Hardwick Hall Estate in Derbyshire, close to J29 on the M1 near Chesterfield and Sutton in Ashfield. The route may change if required by the estate but will retain the same length and general character. Organisers removed a separate night loop for 2026 and will use a single route around the estate.
Facilities and services on race day include a small aid station stocked with hot and cold water, squash, cola, sweets, fruit and cake, dedicated first aiders, an area for support crews and tents, and a bespoke backyard memento for entrants. Trophies are available for the winner and for the furthest male and female finishers. Camping on the Friday evening is offered when available.
The venue follows National Trust guidance; events may be postponed if the estate must close due to high winds. The organiser offers deferrals if a rescheduled date cannot be attended.
