Event
The Clowne Half Marathon is a road race held in Clowne, Chesterfield. The distance is 13.1 Miles on a single lap. The event is sponsored by John S. Shackleton Ltd and donates £1 from every entry to Ashgate Hospice. Entry fees are listed as £30 for affiliated runners and £32 for unaffiliated runners. Entry is limited to 900 places; remaining places were shown as 323. Chip timing is used and a race hoody is provided to all half marathon finishers.
Course, facilities and rules
The course is undulating and runs from Clowne centre through surrounding villages before returning to Clowne. The finish is at Clowne Community Centre, S43 4PL. Race headquarters is The Arc, High Street, Clowne, S43 4JY. Baggage deposited at the start will be transferred to the finish. Water stations, distance markers and toilets are provided. Showers are not provided and changing facilities are limited. No parking is available at race HQ.
The race is governed by UKA rules. The minimum age is 17 on race day. Headphones are not permitted except bone-conducting types. There is a cut-off time of 3 hours. There are no refunds and no deferrals; numbers may be transferred until early November. Race details and the Race Guide are emailed in the week before the event.
