Loop The Loop Trail Challenge – Ranger Ultras
Loop The Loop is a 24 hour trail event based in Edale in the Peak District. The course is a fixed half marathon loop of 23.3 km (14.5 miles) with 977 m of ascent per loop. Entrant numbers are limited to a maximum of 50.
The first loop is run clockwise and after that each participant may choose to run clockwise, anticlockwise or to mix directions. There are no intermediate cut-offs; participants may take rest periods between loops and self-manage transitions using their own kit and the event facilities. Each runner has a personal space and kit area at Race HQ.
Registration and kit checks take place the evening before the event and basic tracker fitting and race number issue are provided. Accommodation and transition options are offered on site with three tiers: hostel beds and indoor transition space (maximum 30 places), single person tent pitches in the centre grounds (maximum 20 places), and one log cabin pod for one or two people. Prices are stated for each option.
Event provisions include on-site meals and refreshments during the event, water at a course checkpoint, Ranger Safety Team support, navigation notes and a GPX file sent to entered participants. All finishers receive a hand-made eco-trophy indicating the number of loops completed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
