Loop The Loop Trail Challenge – Ranger Ultras
Loop The Loop is a 24-hour personal-distance and competitive trail event held in Edale, Peak District. The event uses a fixed half-marathon loop of 23.3 km (14.5 miles) with an ascent of 977 m per loop. Entrants aim to complete as many loops as they can within the 24-hour window; uncompleted loops do not count toward totals. Entry is limited to 50 participants.
The route is straightforward and offers Peak District views. The first loop is run clockwise; thereafter participants may choose clockwise, anticlockwise, or alternate directions. There are no time limits on individual loops and no intermediate cut-offs. Participants self-manage transitions using their own kit and the race facilities; personal transition space and kit storage are provided at race HQ.
Several accommodation and transition options are offered with limited places: indoor hostel beds and indoor transition space (maximum 30), personal single tents on Peak Centre grounds (maximum 20), and a single log cabin pod suitable for one or two people. Included for participants are accommodation and transition space per selected option, Friday evening light snacks and drinks, meals and refreshments at race HQ during the event, water at an on-course checkpoint, Ranger Safety Team support, navigation notes, a GPX file for entrants, and a hand-made eco-trophy showing the number of loops completed.
