Course, format and on-site features
The 5K uses a 1.5 mile two-loop course; participants may choose a single loop instead of two. The course is partly on trails and includes mud sections, hills, streams and boulders. The Beer Mile is a charity event held after the 5K and is described as drinking four beers and running four 400-meter laps; entries are available for individuals and 2–4 person teams.
On-site and post-race features include a wine tasting at Ramona Ranch Winery across the road, live music, and pizza available for purchase from a food vendor. The organizer lists included items with registration: a free Ramona Ranch wine tasting, a finisher’s medal, race swag, music from Ramona Radio, and free parking. A portion of proceeds supports Operation Rebound, a program that assists veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries through sports and fitness.
