Rame Head Race
The Rame Head Race takes place at Mount Edgecumbe near Torpoint, offering participants the opportunity to run around the Mount Edgcumbe Peninsula. The event features a 10.5 km loop that consists primarily of coastal paths. This course design allows for multiple distances by repeating the circuit.
Available distances include:
- Marathon: A four-lap trail run.
- Half Marathon: A two-lap trail run.
- 10K Trail Run: A single-lap run.
- 10K Trail Run Canicross: A single-lap run for participants with dogs.
- 2k: For participants aged 8 to 14.
- 1k: For participants aged 3 to 7.
The terrain involves a combination of hills and flat sections, providing varied running conditions and views along the coast. The marathon distance has a designated cut-off time of 7.5 hours. The event is professionally chip-timed, and the route is fully marked and marshaled.
The start and finish area is located at Mount Edgecumbe, accessible via a short ferry ride from the centre of Plymouth or by road through Cornwall. Participants have access to feed stations along the course and at the finish line. On-site camping is available for an additional charge. All finishers receive a medal, and podium prizes are awarded for top performers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
