Peter Tavy Plod
The Peter Tavy Plod is in its 22nd year and forms part of the local running calendar. The event is based in the Dartmoor village of Peter Tavy with The Shepherd’s Hut, PL19 9NN, named as the event location.
The main race is a five mile course that starts and finishes in the village. The route follows moorland paths and bridleways and passes a number of local landmarks while offering open moorland views.
The run takes place in tandem with the village fair. The fair includes stalls, games and refreshments and presents elements of traditional village life alongside the running event.
There are medals for all finishers. Prizegiving is held at the local pub, which has supported the race since its inception.
Distances:
- 5 mile race along moorland paths and bridleways
- Junior mile for younger participants
Entry fees are available for the listed distances and range from modest junior pricing to the main race fee. The event is organised by a local running group and is scheduled to occur as part of the village activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
