Rally for Research
The Rally for Research is an athletic event organized by the Harvard Tech and Global Health Initiative in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Based at Jamaica Pond, the course follows a route near the local boathouse and start-finish area. The event focus is a 3.1 mile (5k) distance that participants can complete as either a run or a walk.
Financial contributions generated through participant registration fees and donations are directed toward cancer research and patient support organizations. The primary beneficiaries include the American Association for Cancer Research, the Mass General Cancer Center, and Christopher’s Haven Boston. These organizations focus on translational cancer research and improving the experience of patients both locally in Boston and across the United States.
Participants can check in for bibs at Jamaica Pond preceding the event. The schedule includes a pre-race address and acknowledgments followed by an awards ceremony once the activity concludes. The organizing body, the Harvard Tech and Global Health Initiative, works to develop technological solutions aimed at promoting global health equity.
