Event
Rally for Research is a community 5k held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Jamaica Plain, MA (507 Jamaicaway). The event is organized by the Harvard Tech and Global Health Initiative. Entry for the 5k is listed at $20 and registration opens January 26, 2026. Check-in for bib pickup is located at Jamaica Pond near the boathouse. Pre-race acknowledgements occur before the start and an awards ceremony follows the race. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Charity and beneficiaries
Proceeds from entries and donations support the American Association for Cancer Research, Mass General Cancer Center, and Christopher’s Haven Boston. The beneficiaries are described as organizations that promote translational cancer research and patient support.
Course and logistics
The course begins 0.1 miles north of the boathouse and consists of two clockwise laps around Jamaica Pond on the park path, with the finish next to the boathouse. The route uses a shared path; participants are asked to give way to other park users. The start area is accessible via the Emerald Necklace bike and pedestrian path. Public transit access notes nearby subway stops with walking distances of roughly 1000m to 1500m and a bus stop about 400m from the start.
