Event Overview

The Radford University Tartan 5k, A Twilight Run is scheduled for September 18, 2026. The event takes place in Roanoke, Virginia, with the specific venue at River's Edge Park - North (210 Reserve Ave SW).

Participants can choose from two event options:

A 5k run/walk.
A Virtual 5k.

Event Details

The course uses the Roanoke Greenway. The race is chip-timed. A pre-race party is scheduled. Participants are welcome to run in themed attire such as scrubs or kilts. The event is open to runners, walkers, people with strollers, and dogs. Registration discounts are available for Radford University students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as for current healthcare workers.

Awards & Perks

Awards are given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female finishers in the age groups 18-30, 30-50 (Masters), and 50+ (Grandmasters). Additional recognitions include a Highlander Tartan Spirit Award and awards for the youngest and oldest finishers. Registered participants receive a finisher medal, a race t-shirt (guaranteed for the first 150 registrants by August 15, 2026), a swag bag, and a free cup of tropical ice.
