RAD Half Marathon & 10K
The RAD Half Marathon & 10K takes place in Asheville, North Carolina, and runs into the River Arts District along the French Broad River. The courses are USATF sanctioned and certified and feature a net elevation loss from downtown into RAD. The organizer notes the course is chip timed using MyLaps with timing chips on bibs and timing mats on the route. Permit approval is pending and the course is subject to change.
The event supports local artists through a partnership with the River Arts District Artists Foundation (RADA); participants may add a donation to RADA. The weekend includes a post-race festival in RAD with live music, local vendors, an award ceremony, and a complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over at Hi-Wire Brewing. Complimentary shuttles are provided for participants.
Race features and policies mentioned by the organizer include a commemorative finisher medal, a sublimated performance race tee (free until May 9th, with a fee after that date), awards for overall and age-group finishers, and cash prizes for the 10K. A virtual race option is available and virtual runners receive mailed event items. Strollers are not permitted on the course; dogs may attend as spectators only. Transfers into the virtual event are allowed up to the start; refunds and race-to-race deferrals are not offered.
