Racing for Daylight : Saint Robert, Missouri
Racing for Daylight is an annual community fitness event organized by Healthy Futures Pulaski County and held at Tiger Typhoon in Saint Robert, Missouri. The event is public and ran as an eleven hour overnight gathering that marks its tenth year.
Participants use a three mile looped, paved course. Movement can be running, biking, or a combination of both, and participants may join for any portion of the event. A heated indoor aid station is provided with water, Gatorade, and simple runner snacks. The indoor area also offers space to set up supplies and to rest.
The event is free to attend. A souvenir shirt is available for purchase separately at forty dollars. Organizers accept donations for the OneSolePurpose project, which aims to provide new shoes and socks to elementary students in Title I schools in Pulaski County; every thirty five dollars raised supplies one pair of shoes and socks.
The event began as a group training opportunity for longer distance runners who preferred not to run their longest training runs alone, and it continues to welcome friends and community members for shared training and support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
