Racin' Bacon 5K : Riverside Park, Easton, PA
Racin' Bacon 5K is a 3.1 mile running event held near the amphitheater at Riverside Park in Easton, Pennsylvania. Registration includes a long sleeved shirt, bacon, beer and entry to PA Bacon Fest. The event uses costumed mascot pigs that receive a 30 to 60 second head start; runners who pass all three mascot pigs receive a special prize at the finish.
Awards are given to overall winners and the top three finishers in each age group. Age groups are 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 plus. Registration is limited to 275 entries. Pricing is tiered by date: $40 through September 22, $45 from September 23 through October 31, $50 the week of the race, and a children’s rate of $35 for ages 12 and under.
The run begins and ends at Riverside Park amphitheater and takes place alongside PA Bacon Fest, which attracts large crowds. There is no special parking set aside for the race, so participants should plan accordingly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
