Race4Wanza Doughnut Dash 5k
Race4Wanza is the 11th annual Doughnut Dash 5k held in Charleston, South Carolina on April 18, 2026. The event is organized by Race 4 Achievement Inc. (R4A) and supports the TyWanza Sanders Scholarship Fund and other philanthropic outreach programs. It is presented as a community run/walk and a primary fundraiser for R4A.
The event format includes an in-person run/walk at Kids Garden, South Windermere, 61 Windermere Blvd, and a virtual Race From Home option. Registration for the virtual option closes March 23, 2026. The event offers competitive and non-competitive divisions, age-group categories for kids and adults, and team entries with a minimum of two and a maximum of three people per team. Registered competitors take part in a doughnut-eating challenge: individual competitors must eat a dozen doughnuts before finishing, and competing kids must eat four doughnuts. Teams share a dozen doughnuts.
Since its inception, proceeds from Race4Wanza have enabled R4A to award more than $30,000 in scholarships to minority high school graduates in the Charleston area. Registration includes a Race4Wanza T-shirt, a swag bag, a race medal, and a race number. On-site registration carries a $5 late registration fee.
