Cooper River Bridge Run
The Cooper River Bridge Run is a point-to-point 10K event that crosses the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. The course starts in Mount Pleasant at the corner of Simmons and Coleman Boulevard (645 Coleman Blvd., Mt Pleasant) and finishes in Charleston. The bridge span is approximately 2.5 miles long; most of the bridge has a slope near 4.1 percent, with a long approach on the Charleston side at about 1.8 percent and a 0.3 mile section on the Mount Pleasant side reaching 5.6 percent.
Participant logistics include a large Expo and packet pickup at 5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston, on designated Expo days; there is no race day packet pickup. Timing tags are embedded in race bibs and should not be removed or folded. The event includes a Walk/Run category (walkers are placed in the last corral and are timed with the same device as runners) and offers competitive wheelchair registration and a Kids Run. Shuttle options are provided for participants: free shuttle buses for bib holders and an optional boat shuttle that travels between the Fountain Walk Dock near the SC Aquarium and Patriots Point, with bus connections to the start.
The event limits entries and is capped at 38,500 participants. Registrations are accepted online only; refunds are not issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
