Cooper River Bridge Run
The Cooper River Bridge Run is a 10K point to point race in the Charleston area. The start is at the corner of Simmons and Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant (645 Coleman Blvd.). The course crosses the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge; the bridge length is listed as 2.5 miles and sections of the course have slopes up to 5.6 percent while much of the main span is limited to 4.1 percent.
Packet pickup is only available at the Expo (5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston) on the scheduled Expo days: April 1 (noon to 8 PM) and April 2 (8 AM to 8 PM). There is no race day packet pickup. Packet mailing requires payment and has a January 15 deadline; packets are mailed in March to those who paid. Bib transfers end February 15, and corral category changes for bib printing require action by January 15 with verification for qualifying times.
Bus and boat shuttle options serve participants; the boat shuttle departs from Fountain Walk Dock / Aquarium Wharf to Patriots Point and shuttle buses transport participants from Patriots Point to Coleman Boulevard, approximately three quarters of a mile from the start. Shuttle buses are free to runners and walkers who wear their bibs. Strollers and wheeled devices are strongly discouraged and are only allowed in the final walkers corral (Corral K); they are not permitted on shuttle buses or the boat shuttle.
The event is capped at 38,500 participants. Walkers are timed, appear in the full results, and have a three hour course time limit. The timing tag is embedded in the bib and should not be removed.
