Oral Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk
The Student National Dental Association organizes this community event to promote health and fitness while increasing awareness of oral cancer. The event takes place at Hampton Park in Charleston, South Carolina. Participants can engage in the activities either in person or through a virtual option.
The event offers two main distances for participants:
- 5 km run or walk
- 1 mile walk
The 5 km course follows a route that begins and ends at the north side of Hampton Park, specifically near the public restrooms located in that area of the park. Registration and check-in procedures are conducted on-site starting 60 minutes before the run begins.
Beyond the physical activity, the event provides educational resources and health services to the public. Organizers offer free mobile oral cancer screenings and health education to attendees throughout the day. Registered participants receive a race day shirt as part of their entry.
