Race2Unravel is a community running and rucking event held at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Site) in Gilroy, California on August 22, 2026. The event supports pediatric cancer research and includes multiple race formats for different age groups.
Distances and formats include:
- 10K
- 5K
- 5K Ruck
- Youth 10K (ages 9-17)
- Youth 5K (ages 7-17)
- Kids Fun Run (about one quarter mile; ages 2-12)
The course begins at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Side) and follows parts of the Uvas Creek Levee Park Preserve along the Uvas Creek Levee Trail. The route is mainly flat and fully paved. Organizers will provide prominent course signage and marked turnaround points.
Ruck division requirements specify weight minimums of 30 lbs for men and 20 lbs for women, and rucksacks will be weighed before the start. Participants who complete the 5K Ruck receive a commemorative patch. Medals will be presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 5K, 5K Youth, 10K, 10K Youth and 5K Ruck divisions. Kids Fun Run participants receive a commemorative medal.
Other event details: registration deadline for a T-shirt is July 31; no pets are allowed; the race is cupless so participants should bring a personal water bottle; strollers are permitted but should start toward the back and yield on narrow sections.
