About the race
Race2Unravel is a community running event on August 22, 2026 in Gilroy, California at Christmas Hill Park, Ranch Side. The event includes multiple race options for adults and youth, plus a Kids Fun Run that is one lap around the park (just over 1/4 mile).
Distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 5K Ruck Division
- 5K Youth (ages 7–17) and 10K Youth (ages 9–17)
- Kids Fun Run (ages 2–12), one lap
The course begins at Christmas Hill Park and follows sections of the Uvas Creek Levee Trail through the Uvas Creek Levee Park Preserve. The route is mainly flat and fully paved, with prominent course signage and clearly marked turnaround points.
Rucking requires a weighted backpack; weight requirements are 30 pounds for men and 20 pounds for women. Rucksacks will be weighed prior to the start and participants who complete the ruck will receive a commemorative patch. All racers receive a finisher medal; place medals will be presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 10K, 10K Youth, 5K, and 5K Youth. Kids Fun Run participants receive a participation medal.
Important event policies include a registration deadline to receive a T-shirt of July 31, no pets allowed, a cupless race policy so participants should bring a personal water bottle, and stroller accommodations with requests to start toward the back and yield on narrow sections.
