Race Towards Autism Acceptance 2027
Race Towards Autism Acceptance is a multi-distance event at Pratt Park in Fredericksburg, VA. The event includes a family festival with a bounce house, slide, DJ music, games, vendors, playground, food trucks, animals, and community displays. A virtual race option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person. Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Kids and Back of the Pack series and toward the Spring series.
Distances offered:
- 10k (course composed of two laps of the 5k)
- 5k (out-and-back course)
- 1 mile (untimed)
- 1/4 mile dash (untimed)
The course departs from Pratt Park, is paved, fairly flat, and has minimal hills. Two water stations are provided along the course, and restrooms are located near the parking lot. First aid and an AED are available at the pavilion to the left of the park entrance. Timed races are chip timed; runners receive a finisher’s medal and race shirt. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in age categories; the 1 mile and 1/4 mile are untimed with no awards. Live results are available during the event and final results with series points are posted the following Monday. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; prices increase by $5 on race morning. The event benefits Cooking Autism, Inc.
