Race Towards Autism Acceptance 2027
This event takes place on April 17, 2027 at Pratt Park in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It includes multiple distances and awards series points toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Kids and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Spring series. The event benefits Cooking Autism, Inc, a nonprofit that supplies life-skills and cooking classes to special education classrooms in the Greater Fredericksburg area.
The course departs from Pratt Park on paved paths that are fairly flat with minimal hills. The 5k is an out-and-back course run once; the 10k runs the 5k course twice. Water stations are placed along the courses at specified mile markers, and some stations will offer Gatorade.

Runners receive a finisher’s medal and a race shirt; the event is chip timed for the timed distances. Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in age groups 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. A family festival runs after the start and includes a bounce house, slide, DJ music, games, vendors, playground, food trucks, animals, and other activities. A virtual race option is available. Packet pickup is available at the event, restrooms are near the parking lot, and first aid and an AED are located at the pavilion left of the park entrance.
